Research Projects
Our work focuses on the conversion of real source biomass to value added chemicals.

Bio-ethylene glycol production
The project includes the preparation and characterization of efficient catalysts (following green and sustainability guidelines) for one-pot conversion of cellulose and real source biomass to ethylene glycol.
Bio-propylene glycol production
The project includes the preparation and characterization of efficient catalysts (following green and sustainability guidelines) for one-pot conversion of cellulose and real source biomass to bio-propylene glycol.
Computational catalysis
The project includes the detailed modelling of heterogeneous catalyst using different computational softwares for biomass valorisation.

Current Research Focus
Green & Sustainability
01
Glycols production
Our team has developed efficient heterogeneous catalytic processes for producing glycols from biomass substrates, including patented methods for ethylene glycol and propylene glycol. We have also published papers showcasing our expertise in glycol production.
03
Lactic Acid Production
Lactic acid is a highly valuable chemical, and our team is dedicated to finding innovative ways to produce it sustainably We are currently working on converting waste biomass to lactic acid using a highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst derived from solid waste. Our goal is to create a more sustainable future for the chemical industry while also reducing waste.
02
HMF production
Our team is dedicated to producing high-quality HMF from biomass-derived substrate using heterogeneous catalyst. We believe that this material has great potential in various industries. With our expertise and state-of-the-art facilities, the research is progressing well.
04
CO2 capture and utilisation
As the world the challenges of global warming, the need for carbon capture and utilization has become more pressing than ever. Our research group have shifted our focus to developing innovative solutions for CO2 sequestration and utilization. By harnessing the power of carbon, we can create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
