Towards Green & Sustainable Research

We are MB Research Team, a heterogeneous & theoretical catalysis group in CSIR-NCL, Pune. We investigate novel concepts that underlie the complexities of our field. Our experimental works focus on producing the value added chemicals from waste biomass (sugarcane begasse, agro wastes etc). We also direct our research towards producing such a novel catalyst which follows the green and sustainability protocols for the biomass valorisation.

Plants

 Bio-ethylene glycol production

Glycol is a water-miscible coolant that is frequently used in heat transfer and cooling applications. Ethylene Glycol is an industrially important energy chemical.

Bio-ethanol production

Bioethanol or fuel ethanol is the favourite among bio fuels produced from bio energy crops and biomass for it is clean, renewable and green combustion. Bioethanol can be directly used in place of benzene or diesel or as mixture with benzene called gasohol or blended with diesel called diesohol.

Theoretical Catalysis

Designing and modelling of different catalysts for different applications

Bio-Propyleneglycol Production

Propyleneglycol is one of an important value added chemicals for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and polymer industries
